Tonight the Jellicle cats gather in a spectacular junkyard of rusty pots and pans and dented cans to sing exultantly of their feline fineness. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical masterpiece will leave you purring with pleasure at the marvelous score, the breath-stopping acrobatic dance numbers and the exquisitely costumed cast of cattish characters. Based on a collection of whimsical poems by T.S. Eliot, Cats burst onto the London stage in 1981 to become the longest running musical in the history of London and Broadway. This high-voltage, brilliantly imaginative show, featuring the haunting hit song “Memory,” captured seven Tony Awards including Best Musical.
